Since
the spring art activities have slowed down, I have been out
painting and enjoying the weather. I have been down to Big
Sur painting with the Morgan Hill Gallery and to Half Moon
Bay painting with the Peninsula Outdoor Painters, plus our
own LGAA Plein Air Group in the south bay. I have just added
some of this work to the
gallery.
In late
June, my wife and I took our 40th anniversary trip to Catalina
and Laguna Beach. We found some amazing galleries and art
museums, with the one in Irvine being our favorite. This private
collection holds some amazing work by all the great Southern
California Plein Air Painters from 1910 to 1940. Catalina
is an outdoor painter's dream and I have two new
Catalina paintings in my gallery.
Morgan
Hill Gallery invited me to demonstrate for their group in
June and they were very supportive of my first effort. My
next venture into demonstrating will come August 17 at the
Terraces, a senior living residence in Los Gatos. I'm planning
to setup a still life.
My painting
"Opening Day", on my home page was selected for
the 2005 Fiesta De Artes poster in Los Gatos. This Art and
Wine Festival is in its 30th year and can be attended Sat
13 and Sun 14 of August, in downtown Los Gatos.
