Western
Landscape Artist and Plein Air Painter
I
began painting in the early seventies with some early success.
Ten years ago, as I was heading toward retirement, I joined the
Los Gatos Art Association where I soon became a board member.
Through this Association my painting skills improved and I began
to win awards in local competitions. I formed an outdoor
painting group and together with the LGAA we paint outdoors
every Monday.
My
goal as artist is to continue to improve my skills. I love painting
outdoors which has taken me to the Grand Canyon, deserts of Arizona
and the Grand Tetons of Wyoming. I turn many of my outdoor paintings
into large studio paintings.
I
paint in acrylic, which is a fast drying medium. This allows me
to work fast and loose in the style of the early California impressionists.
